Im done making boring art

I reached my goal of being able to get my character ideas out of my head and on to paper,
but becasue of this ive been stagnent in my actual art progress. So starting now,
Im setting a new goal of making art thats fun to look at, Id love to be able to portrey
my characters interacting and having expression, but also I want my art to be fun to look
at.
so with this one I studied a sketch from (I cant fint their twitter rn, but ill link it when
I find it!), and took notes on what I liked and didnt like, this took like 1000x longer than
usual
but it was so worth it.
Some of the things I noted were the thinner lines, and vibrant colors, and the pure white
background becoming part of the highlights on the hair, that one specifically really
interested
me.
Some of the specific things I enjoyed about making this:
Skin tones - I put a lot more saturation and vibrance in the skin tones, I think specifically
against the blue hair and the gold glasses it really pops
Hair Coloring - The extra saturated color in the hair was somthing I found really interesting
about the sketch I studied, they have the same value, so its not any darker or lighter, but it
really gives it some more visual interest and shows of highlights on the hair in a really
interesting way.
Mouth Expression - This one seems really simple, but ive always had a hard time with mouths, and
im really happy with how this one came out!
Im feeling genuinley proud of my work again, and its really gotten me motivated to draw a tone more! I saw that dress made of those ikea tote bags and I think thats what ima work on next xP Thanks for reading all that, and I hope you liked this piece as much as I do!

Ive been wanting to move forward my art a little bit, im honestly pretty happy with 80% of the stuff i make latley, but ive never really made a super detailed piece digitally. With this one im hoping to make someting more complete, with a background and a more accurate lighting approach.
so i started this one with just grayscale, becasue my values have been really lackluster latley. Im hoping this helps the end product to look a little more cohesive and grounded.
will I actually finish this? I dunno, but at least that was the goal lmao (I also forgot her hair ribbon)
A Long overdue redesign

This is one of my first truly thought out characters that I made before I had really any understanding of good character design, so I recently gave her a major rework and Im super happy with how far ive come with stuff like this!
this is also the character you see on my home page, but I havent redrawn her with the updated design yet lmao
